Statement:

A new law has been passed and signed by the Governor. It takes effect on 8/4/07 and provides what amounts to a free benefit for all County employees. This law allows for four hours of time per calendar year to each employee to obtain screening for prostate or breast cancer. This time cannot be charged to any of your accruals. I would imagine that there is hardly a person around that has not been impacted directly or in-directly by one of these diseases. I encourage anyone that needs these exams to work with their supervisors and human resources to take advantage of this benefit. It could, quite possibly, save your life.
